More Injury Prevention Efforts Needed for Veterans with TBI

Caregiver Reports of Subsequent Injuries Among Veterans with Traumatic Brain Injury After Discharge from Inpatient Polytrauma Rehabilitation Programs (2012)

In this study, caregivers of veterans with traumatic brain injury reported that nearly one-third (32%) of their loved ones incurred medically treated injuries after discharge from the inpatient polytrauma rehabilitation hospital. Most injuries were associated with falls (49%) and motor vehicles (37%).
