Mild Traumatic Brain Injury from Primary Blast Versus Blunt Forces: Post-Concussion Consequences and Functional Neuroimaging

This pilot study compared Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom veterans diagnosed with mild TBIs caused by pure blast force with veterans whose mild TBIs were caused by blunt force. The study authors conclude that individuals with TBIs caused by pure blast force may have greater post-concussive symptoms, including deficits in the ability to pay attention.
